I've read several answers with come-ons, flattery and invitations to meet. Please make SURE you know the age of this person and that they are over the age of 18. You can be arrested for inviting a minor to meet you!!!

I agree that we need to protect our children but we also need to protect ourselves. Adults are vulnerable, also, to trouble from someone who passes themself off as an adult for malicious purposes. The same kind of mind that gets joy out of spreading a virus thru your puter would enjoy starting a online romance with you and then ruin your life because they are "just a kid". Anytime you start a online relationship, you would be wise to print out and keep all "chat dialogues" and emails. Run a check to verify age AND identity asap.

Listen to "the old lady in the library" ... she's the voice of reason.
My advice is: If you find yourself wanting to 'form a relationship' with someone you 'meet' on-line, insist on a face-to-face meeting early on. If your new 'friend' is reluctant to meet you (in a well lighted and busy public place, of course), then something is 'fishy'.
For self protection, you may want to specify in an e-mail that the reason you WANT to meet in person is so that both parties can verify that the other is an adult. Be very careful what you 'say' to this person until you're sure they are who and what they claim to be. Don't be shy about demanding to see ID, if in doubt!

I agree, I look at some of the Q&A on this site and it is scary how many sick bastards are out their. I would also tell the girls on this site to be carefull what they say because who knows who is reading it. Internet crimes happen everyday. This place could be used as another platform for sick people.

ALL adults online should be VERY careful what they say and to whom. THE FBI WILL HAVE NO SENSE OF HUMOR. They are trying to stop sickos, the forums can be dangerous.
