Question:
Has anyone else noticed how misogyny has become an internet meme?
?

"Go make me a sandwich" and "T1ts or GTFO" are 2 good examples

http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/****-or-gtfo (your going to have to un-censor the link)

http://failblog.org/2010/06/11/epic-fail-photos-driving-fail-7-3/

There are many more examples those are 2 I found quite quickly.

Has this been going on for awhile? Or is this new trend on the inter-webs something relatively new? and if so what do you think has caused it?

WHAT???

Women are the TRUE original misogynists.

A man doesn't need to "hate women" ---->> THEY ALREADY HATE THEMSELVES.

You will never see a man stick his finger down a woman's throat to get her to lose weight... but countless women do that to THEMSELVES.

Here is one who hates herself so much

she doesn't even have any respect for a life - including her own.

So..... how the HELL can anyone call men "misogynist" when she hates HERSELF so much, that she actually QUESTIONS why any man likes any part of her??????

I've witnessed 2 grown women claw and scratch each other's eyes out for the last handbag on sale 50% off. Never mind the internet... in the THE REAL WORLD women in beauty pageants put NEEDLES in each other's dresses!! Clearly women are so misogynistic, they hate each other like a deer hates a shotgun.

Manclusion: Men don't even need to be "misogynists".

Women do it all by themselves.

I think that misogyny was not less than nowadays, but just less visible. Before the crisis men had higher position and higher salaries than women on the average. In my point of view it was already a hidden misogyny, where you could not observe verbally or visually, but statistically It was clear.

We are just on the recovery of "post-crisis" period. Statistics show that men lost more work than women during the crisis, because companies must optimise their earnings and they realise that this was the only way to reduce the salaries average. It means that women don't receive more, but men receive less...

This effect naturally created a reaction against women. Some men who lost their apparent domination came back with their verbal or visual misogyny because it was the only way for them to continue their self confidence problem.

I think that you should not be worried about this so far. It's a victory already. Because before there was a strong stagnation on the problem of misogyny. women are now more competitive and more protected financially. Remains just this blablabla from some stupid men. But against them you are now protected by laws and on the paradise justice system of usa you can make this guys to shut up in just a blink of an eye.................... yes, it's a very good step for the development of real equal rights on every corner of the country!!!!!

Are you kidding? definite, there's a primary irreverence in direction of each type of people, however the misogyny is obviously distinctive. not each thing may well be got here approximately as a humorous tale. the ladies people are violently attacked and degraded, jointly as being laughed at in a fashion that the adult men and different stereotypes at the instant are not. And that is consistent in each episode. i can not even watch it, fairly. i think of that is fairly great which you further this out because of the fact perhaps people will see it greater now that they are paying interest. of direction, many women folk people will want to argue that there is not something incorrect with it because of the fact they don't want to risk being the kill-exhilaration like Lois or get the disapproval of adult men, like Meg.

I'll have to agree with "The Man" on this one. Women are snarky to eachother, judgemental toward toward other women, critical, always comparing themselves to other women, picking out every flaw other women have and always in competition with eachother even when there's nothing to compete for other than feeling like the prettiest girl in the room. No wonder we're a joke to a lot of men.

I find a lot of humor and truth in those memes you see all over the internet and I'm a woman.

There are hundreds of memes, and quite a few are against guys. Whenever I go to omegle or chatroulette and they're like "u horny? Show me some t1ts" I just say "That's so rude to ask a girl, weren't you taught manners blahblah" and they get really frazzled and nearly all of them have apologised profusedly. It's awesome. Guys aren't really bad. ^_^

It just shows the true cowardly nature of men. That kind of talk has been shut down in the workplace and by wives all over this country so these men come online to get their fill of harassing and degrading women. For a long while I thought misogyny was dead and we were really starting to move forward as a society then I became active online and saw I was gravely mistaken. Misogyny is alive and well I'm afraid and my opinion of men plummeted after speeding time online. The struggle of women is FAR from over, sadly I have the feeling it's only just began...

"and if so what do you think has caused it?"

Fat, lazy, uncreative internet nerds with too much time on their hands, who haven't been hit enough by their parents, and who weren't raised properly.

"Go make me a sandwich"

Most of the time, perhaps nearly all the time, that I see this one, it's said to some crazy b*tch who is being a crazy b*tch. Usually whining about something petty or something that makes ya go, "...What...the...HELL...is this person talking about???" It's not like they run around saying it to everyone who claims to be a woman.

EDIT:

Liam,

And yet misandry is common fare in the mainstream media.

Eg Dr Phil, Oprah, 90% of sitcoms.
