The time difference between here and my parents back home in England never ceases to confuse them. I thought it was pretty simple until I went to Gibraltar to get married and found that despite being quite a long way west of England it's the same timezone as the Netherlands. It was then that I discovered that what timezone a nation occupies has nothing to do with its position on the globe and everything to do with politics and trade.
