What do you think should happen to Tony Veitch?

He's a NZ tv presenter for TVNZ, recently accused and admitted yesterday to abusing his ex-partner. He apparently broke her back in 4 places and she was hospitalised and in a wheel chair for months. She had a breakdown and he paid her $100,000 to keep her quiet.

Recently the Dominion Post leaked this information and although I have no time for trial by media I still feel that this guy deserves to be brought to justice. What do you think about her initially accepting the money though? Does that lay any blame on her as some have argued..

I think the final payment was 170,000 isn't this restorative justice in action, and can the NZ police lay charges without a complaint from the victim,

Had she laid a complaint initially, she probably wouldn't have gotten that hush money, no one knows the facts for sure and until it comes to a trial and not one by media then everyone should back off.

As for Mathew Ridge, try looking at your druggie mate, did we ever find out who his pusher was, wait no, Mat, advice, try not working with that loser, you hypocrite

She probably accepted the money out of fear of further repurcusions, so I would not put any blame on her. He could've paralyzed her.



He deserves whatever justice he receives. Hopefully her accepting the money won't get him off, though. Juries can be really stupid sometimes, and people in our society are always quick to blame the victim in domestic violence cases.

Yes it does lay some blame on her. For her to get her a$$ kicked that bad tells us that it isn't the first time it happened. And then for her to accept the money is just stupid. I would have paid a sniper to kill him. But that's just me. Although it is not her fault that this happened. By all cost he had no right to kick her a$$ like that.

he bribed her to stay silent. She made the smart choice she left. I think she should of demanded more money 100k is not worth the pain and suffering.



But all things aside he should serve 2-10 for aggravated assault. And depending how life threatening the injury's he should also be charged for attempted homicide.
