Question:
Is this a blatant sign of how shallow and selfish some men are becoming?

In todays society when men's magazines start offering competitions to divorce your wife?
Who says that women initiate most divorces when men have this kind of tripe offered to them?
And while Feminism is blamed for the breakdown in marraiges and stable family units, it appears that the anti-feminists are two-faced as they actually publically promote divorcing your wives.
Why can't some men admit their part too?

The same reason SOME women can't.

But many women make their divorces quite public and are rallied for with "you go girl" and such. Divorce is never a good thing..sometime the better option, such as when leaving an abusive home, but it is never a joyous thing that should be celebrated by either person.

No it isn't. What ever happened to not "borgifying" someone else? If feminists aren't some monolithic movement it stands to reason that men probably aren't monolithic either. The only thing that this proves is that a few people who work for 1 magazine in the whole world have a pretty crass sense of irony/humor. That's about all that this proves.

Not really, I think it's more likely to appeal to the readers of that magazine, who are probably the shallow end of the gene pool anyway.

You notice it didn't run in The Australian or Sydney Morning Herald (or The Age) ~ so it's not a mainstream thing.

The publicity people for the mag are probably rubbing their hands together with glee, but I bet we never hear how many 'entries' they get!

Cheers :-)

A radio station here once ran a contest with breast implants as the prize. In a show of good taste, listeners of both genders tuned to other stations and blasted the contest as a new low. The station quickly dropped the contest after a feeble attempt at defending it.

it must be many diverse motives.....in case you're a hypochondriac, with ailment oftentimes, then he could be "bored" of your complaining (ever heard the story of the boy that cried wolf)...he might merely be insensitive...he won't know the thank you to respond....you have certain him which you do no longer choose him, yet secretly choose him to hassle over you, now indignant that he did no longer word which you particularly wanted his interest....he could be preoccupied along with his own stresses....you won't be significant to him-in keeping with how long you have been relationship and what sort of relationship you have...properly, the checklist can pass on and on and because i do no longer know the main properly known factors of the relationship, your terrific wager is to ask for his care. ladies constantly choose the guy to do it on their own, yet no longer a lot of them do...they're merely made that way i think. You tell him to do it, in a type way of course, via letting him know which you go with him and might like him to be there by way of fact of such and such motives(you know what to assert your guy). you may merely ought to settle for that it particularly is the way he's or discover yet another. it is your call.

I never said we weren't responsible for at least part of the initiated divorces. However I would say these magazines usually hold these competitions as a joke to humour the unsophisticated, neanderthal consumers they cater to.

As to your recently added point I do distinguish between speaking your mind and bItching, looks to me like you're doing the latter in this case =D settle down a bit, you know it's not healthy to get so worked up

If you would read the description of the contest, you'd realize that it is for dead end marriages. It is for marriages where the wife had an affair or there is no more chemistry. Anyways, a single contest doesn't mean that women don't intiate more divorces than men.

Actually only evil, antisocial, narcissistic, sociopathic, psychopath crab lice sk--kholes which is only 3% of men unfortunately that is still the statistic since it's better to have that statistic down to 0%.

I think you are out of your element.

Men and women generally don't share all of the same views on humor.

Edit: Well, if you know it's comedy then why don't you and the hubby write something up and win then ask for the money instead of the prize package.

It's been my experience that men's magazines are pretty much worthless for anything good. This is more proof.

But women do initiate most divorces.

It seems like a tacit admission to me. Wait, where does it say that only men can enter this "contest"?

Did I miss something?

Both men and women can be shallow and selfish. And I'm pretty sure this is no news to women today.

Becoming?

My old man thought that the 'degradation" of American Moral Values, began not in the 1960's, but when they gave women the vote.

No not becoming, already there.
