Someone who believes in the strength of the women, and has acknowledge of their weekness as well.

Someone who knows how far any woman can get, and walk strong to get that far as she imagine.

Someone who believe in her as much as she believes in other women around her, despite some errors they commit, despite all the mistakes she have had by her own.

Someone who chooses whatever is her real choice of life, wheter it is developing a profesional career or raise her children and be a singular howsewife.

Someone who knows that a woman needs to cry sometimes, and someone who know that a man can be her support, and that she can be a man support, and that both needs each other for their well being (or another woman in case of an homosexual woman).

A feminist is anyone, male or female, who believes that women are human. A feminist is anyone who wants equal, not special, treatment for women. A feminist is anyone who is willing to tell others that sexism isn’t funny, practical, or sexy. A feminist is anyone who wants a fair and balanced society for both men and women. Yes there are many different veins of feminism, but I think these principals are pretty universal in the Feminist world.

Actually, to clarify an earlier answer by somebody, the proper term to define a man-hating woman would be a Misandrist; sort of the same way a Mysoginist hates women.

Feminist always refers to one who believes in the equal rights and autonomy of women.

Speaking for myself...a feminist is a woman who goes after what SHE wants in life, and never minds what other people think of her.

I say Playmates are one of the "real" feminists....they went for it, knowing they may be judged harshly for their decision, but went for it, nonetheless.

There are responsibility that comes with going after what one wants. As long as it does not infringe on others' rights and freedoms, she can do as she pleases.

A true feminist is somebody who knows her rights and is ready to fight for it but at the same time knows her boundaries. She knows what she's fighting for but is also aware of the rights of the other sex. She upholds women's rights but is also reasonable when it comes to dealing with the other sex.

"Feminism is a diverse collection of social theories, political movements, and moral philosophies, largely motivated by or concerning the experiences of women, especially in terms of their social, political, and economic situation. As a social movement, feminism largely focuses on limiting or eradicating gender inequality and promoting women's rights, interests, and issues in society. It also incorporates concern about the effect of gender roles on men, and encouragement for men to change and transcend traditional male roles and norms of masculinity."
