Question:
Is there any possibility of another military draft in near future?

Draft was quite a common tool used by government back during the world wars; though the selective services are there these days, I was wondering can the govt. go back doing the drafting system if the situation does arise in future?

Isn't draft "misandry" in nature? It sees men as disposables.

I could see an argument of the draft being misandry, but I would say it wasn't intended to be misandritic. But if the draft would come back now I would imagine most people would be furious. I know I would. I'm not going to fight in a war unless I believe in the cause.

It's very unlikely in America, as we have agreed to the United Nations that we will not implement any conscription. Given the rise of counter-cultures in effect of the last draft, I think the government would use it as a last resort. Also we have less need for armed forces with the use of modern weaponry.

It is however still legally implemented in other places, and might be successful in countries with strong nationalistic and militarist society such as the North Korea.

Here is a list of counties that still allow legal drafting http://teenadvice.about.com/library/weekly/aa030203f.htm

I don't know if I would call it misandristic, but I believe nobody should be drafted against their will.

Oh puh-lease, men created wars, high ranking men created drafts so poorer men would fight for them. Women fought to be able to fight in wars. If you think war and drafting is "misandry" you've got some weird complex.

Sure the people in this section will believe anything. So what stops them from believing that the draft is coming back, they certainly hold more delusional ideas than that to start with.
