Question:
Hypothetical: two people meet and hit it off and have sex on the first night?

Does having sex on the first night make it any more or less likely that the pair would grow their relationship into something meaningful if indeed that is on the cards and what they are both looking for out of life?

I reckon if you fancy a shag and it stops there then it never would have worked in the first place so at least a good shag was enjoyed

BUT you can shag on the first night and fall for said person and bingo.

So my conclusion is whether you wait or not is irrelevant to the outcome

Between marriages, I dated a succession of "professional virgins". They were all un or under employed, had a prepubescent son with behavior problems, and an old car that needed repairs. Invested too much time and emotional effort in these dead end relationships and never got any sex! I decided on a policy of no sex, no second date. I didn't push it, or use it openly, I just didn't go back. I soon found several nice ladies, that were successful and nice to be with. The women I married 26 years ago took me to bed within hours of our first meeting. Never met a better woman. Just about perfect. Gets better every year too.

I personally have never had sex on a first date, because I've always had trust issues with people I don't know well. Also, my very first sexual experience was a rape, so possibility of having sex was not an enjoyable thought in my mind for a long while. However, I think that relationships could be whatever their participants make of them no matter how it all began. The only thing is that both participants need to be comfortable with levels of trust it takes.

they meet and shag on the same day?

just my opinion i dont think it could really be too much more there....unless both parties are mature enough to try and get to know eachother beyond a physical level. If they can appreciate one another for more than sex than why not?

One night stands are what they are: they start and end abruptly. You go your way, and the other one goes their way.

I have to add that: a one night stand in your 20's, develops also differently when you're 30 years of age.

trust is what it comes down to I guess. A guy/girl who will shag someone they've only known for a few hours is gonna be a handful:-) Youre gonna want to drop em sooner than later.

Yes, it is possible for a first-time shag to turn into more. ( Experience )

Well, I almost always had sex with men on the first night, and sometimes it developed into something more lasting, and sometimes it didn't. I doubt myself that it makes much difference.

Like most everything else, it is subjective.

I have been with my "one night stand" for over six years.....LOL!

Everyone's situation is different, I guess......
