Excerpt:
"Maintaining the household was the main duty of samurai women. This was especially crucial during early feudal Japan, when warrior husbands were often traveling abroad or engaged in clan battles.
............................
Traits valued in women of the samurai class were humility, obedience, self-control, strength, and loyalty. Ideally, a samurai wife would be skilled at managing property, keeping records, dealing with financial matters, educating the children (and perhaps servants, too), and caring for elderly parents or in-laws that may be living under her roof. Confucian law, which helped define personal relationships and the code of ethics of the warrior class required that a woman show subservience to her husband, filial piety to her parents, and care to the children."

The Samurai would commit harakiri/seppuku to free himself from the incessant whining of the feminist.

The Samurai would tidy up while the feminist expounded upon...feminism. Unless of course the feminist was a man, in which case he would make the Samurai very nervous by jumping up to help with the tidying up. Unless of course the SAMURAI was also a man, in which case they would watch the game on television like all men do.

That excerpt sounds like the majority of wives I know, even in some the bit about 'subservience to their husband', of course you won't find me being 'subservient' to my husband (well not much anyway) don't tell on me.

You need to show some proof of what you claim. This was a male society, and probably engaged in homosexuality, like the sumo wrestler.

Presumably the feminist would champion the samurai's wife's choice and be thrilled for her aside from the idiotic notion of 'obedience'

The feminist would probably nag the samurai to death.

Nothing.

So you are telling women they should be grateful? Are you assuming the ideal role of the women to serve the man's desires.

Why don't you worry about yourself and how you could serve women? It's not always about the women.
