Do women enjoy violent action movies like guys do?

I will honestly go see anything at the theater as long as the trailer doesn't look like garbage. My favorite genres are action and comedy.

Guns, blood, swearing, car chases, male heroes with rippling muscles, predictable scantily clad damsels in distress; that is an awesome action movie.

Do most women enjoy violent action movies or am I a rarity?

HIGH FIVE! I know, a lot of females tend to lean more towards romance. I find romance rather clichéd and void of excitement. I mean, you KNOW what's going to happen, they make stupid mistakes, you're just waiting for it to end.

I like other kinds better. Thrillers and action movies are AWESOME. Not sure about damsel in distress though, it's clichéd and a bit annoying at times..

Don't worry, you're uncommon, but not rare. A few of my friends like movies like this as well.

I like action movies if they are well written. You mention up there Fight Club, Bond movies, The Bourne series, and Tarantino films. I like all of those. I like chick flicks too, if they are well written. I usually reserve the terms "action film" and "chick flick" for the crappy films in the two genres.

I enjoy 'em, for the most part. Although some of them have seriously lame plots.

Action and comedy are also mine favorite as well as sci-fi and suspense, but like you say it must not appear corny. I know a girl who does like that as well, but she is the only one. Other are into romance and anything else I will NEVER go see.

I like some of them if they have a good plot. Some of them have great writing and dialogue,so it's not just blowing stuff up.

i love action, horror, blood, you name it. i dont like chick flicks. never have. i like a comedy now and then if its a good one, but all this romace,lovey crap annoys me.
