d by society at large! I've seen female teachers in my school literally lusting over teen boys before, it happens more often than most will admit and people want to label men as pigs, perverts, or pedophiles! And, it happens a lot amongst Latin American immigrant women because in Latin America sleeping with teen boys isn't seen as taboo like it is here, but, it happens with a lot of white women as well as many black!

Because regardless what feminists say, its still a man's world. And men as a whole don't see this as damaging as the other way around. Hell I slept with a 20 something women when I was 17. I heard that same thing, that's so common in these situations. You look older and act mature for your age. Like this is an excuse. But again, I wasn't mad, hurt, depressed, fooled or anything. I considered it a honor and rite of passage. lol

There are no easy answers to this question. However, consider that society's attitude has a lot to do with how the young boys deal with it. As you can see from some of the posts, according to some in society, it is a coup for a teenage boy to get to be involved with an "older" woman. In addition, they are supposed to be proud of this attention so it becomes difficult to tell anyone what is happening or to complain about it. Women who prey on young men are no different than the men who prey on young women - it just gets overlooked by much of society. Research tells us that 1 out of 4 young women and 1 out of 12 boys will be molested by an adult by the time they are 18. However, the numbers for boys are probably artificially low. They rarely report!

We need to step up to the plate and begin to deal with the fact that we have given boys a destructive message and it is time we changed it. This is true whether the boys and adults are Asian, Caucasian, Latino or any otherCaucasianackground. That it is not "taboo" does not make it right or healthy.

Probably because in most cases the guy doesn't seem that bothered by it. I don't know many teenage boys who would be too upset if they slept with an older woman. Unless she looked like Rosie O'Donnell or something. Either way yes its wrong. As for guys getting labeled as pedos and pigs for the same thing: Well that's part of the whole "women are fragile and need to be protected" thing. Yes, its a double standard. It's not right. But then so are many things in life.

Why is race even apart of the issue? My uncle and everyone in my family has told me that when my uncle was like 8 he lost his virginity to some 40 year old woman...I find that hard to believe, but hey who am I to doubt them? I just think of it this way, guys lose their virginity at a younger age than most women. So who are these guys doing it with? Older women! Plus when teachers spend too much time on the job and with the students I've noticed a lot of them begin to revert back to "hey the cool kid is talking to me" or just become more immature...maybe that has something to do with it? But its not like its something new, its been going on for ages.

For centuries the prevailing thought was that young boys were lucky if they were to be molested by some older FEMALE (not male, mind you), and encouraged to feel such. Thank goodness that way of thought has given way to a progressive, more gender-free approach to the issue.

Nevertheless, with testosterone-driven males, young and old, still on the prowl for females, it is no wonder that such antiquated thinking prevails to this day.

because there is a sexual double-standard that women (regardless of age) never want sex, and men (regardless of age) never don't want it. So people believe that the older man must be a predator because there is no way that the girl actually wanted to have sex- and the older woman is a saint because the boy must have wanted to sleep with an older woman. It's a disgusting double standard, and nobody wins.

Because some women see it as degrading, (to women) and not spoken about. Once admitted there is no strength in the age-old feminist argument 'Middle-aged men that chase teenage girls are disgusting'. It brings women to the same level as men in the need for sexual excitement.

The 'Middle-aged men that chase teenage girls are disgusting' articles are usually written by female journalists.

It is a part of nature - young guys naturally just love that sort of attention and see it as a boasting point with friends. Guys will lap it up, while girls might need to be manipulated by an older man at a time when they are vulnerable since they are seriously into puberty.

As long as they're over the required age, and there is no teacher/student thing, then it's OK - it is strictly verboten between teacher and student.

I would honestly hate to be a male teacher these days, and it's probably getting as bad for females as well.

That because no one has called it in. It doesn't get ignored. The problem is that some peoeple, especially recent immigrants from Latin American contries and other contries find it acceptable and find that our way of prosecuting such people as going overboard. Women lusting after teenage boys especially teachers get prosecuted all the time. I'm a Latin female (Puerto Rican) and as an American we don't condone such acts. In fact as Puerto Ricans we sometimes try to educate other Latin American populatons as to what is acceptable and unacceptble when it comes to sexual behavior. For example: in some Latin American contries your spouse has to agree with a divorce before you are allowed to divorce. so, if you marry an a'hole then you are stuck. In the U.S. you file for a divorce and the judge decides. In some South American contries rapists forego conviction is they agree to marry their victims, WITHOUT the victims approval. So you have female teenage rape victims being forced to marry their rapists. In some Mexican indiginous tribles fathers rape their daughter on their daughters wedding night. Since common law marriages are acceptable in some areas of Latin America, having sex with someone can be seen as entering into a common law marriage with that individual. in fact there are two words for husband: "marido" and "esposo". "marido" is more used for common law spouse and "esposo" for legal or church marriage. There are instances when young girls are taught that if they have sex with a man, either teenage or adult male then they are considered married and they HAVE TO have sex with the person and can never say no. Since sex with an underage person is condoned then we have a problem with people coming to the U.S. and wanting to continue having sex with underage girls and boys. I personally believe that we live in the best country in the world because we protect the rights and welfare of those in our population unable to protect themselves (underage, children, disabled, elderly), and as such AND AND ALL suspected cases of sex with a minor should be reported immediately and prosecuted to the fullest extent of our laws, and any such individuals to be labeled a child sexual predators for the rest of their lives.

I don't know why it is ignored. Is it because society has a double standard on sex? Guys are still refereed for their sexual conquest?

I think these women should be treated exactly as a male is in the same situation. They are no different as they are preying on someone who is easily influenced.

It usually goes unreported unless they're caught by an outside source. Some teen boys consider it some sort of "trophy" to have sex with older women.
