Question:
Is masculinity superficial in the Mid West (could geography determine masculinity/femininity)?

I'm from Miami, surrounded by working class immigrants, second generation immigrants, and people with no tradition (since relatives are overseas) who know how to have fun that isn't contrived or out of anxiety.

And from what I understand, to want women, it's the want to be what women want and not want what women want...

...it's the latter form that confuses me since I moved to the Mid West (Ohio; Cleveland rated as one of the manliest US cities).

Because from what I 'observe' in these parts, a man feminine side is contrived and I see rampant tendencies of their girl/wive to want another man (so to speak).

Is it because over here in Ohio it's less densely populated and that the weather forces cooperation between men within a short time period (warm months)?

Could geography determine masculinity/femininity?

Only broken-down men live in the gutter that is Cleveland, OH--you'll have no competition...but unfortunately the same type of women live there.

For example, eccentric cartoonist Harvey Pekar lives in Cleveland.

For example, men surf all day in raw sewage in Cleveland--they "love.it." (NG 2.5)

(I discovered both of these stimulating factoids on "Anthony Bourdain, No Reservations"--check it)

First of all, women's minds work in reverse. The key to satisfying them is to NOT satisfy them. Don't even try because she'll raise her expectations high and make you do things that she REALLY doesn't even care about, she just wants to validate your desire for her so you won't cheat.... but then again if you give her too much compassion, you're weak and boring.... so really there's no way to go. You'll inevitably be WRONG. But at least one of the wrongs (being a jerk) will get you laid.

"And from what I understand, to want women, it's the want to be what women want and not want what women want..." - This is the second time you have said this and I still am a little confused by the wording or what the statement is even supposed to mean.

I don't think geography determines masculinity/femininity.
