Question:
WHY so much awareness for WOMEN'S cancer but none for MEN'S cancer?

Every year there is a huge appeal for women's breast cancer month - the pink ribbon appeal.

And in one country (New Zealand) there is something called 'Mo-vember' where men grow moustaches during November to raise money for breast cancer?

Or are men not important?

WHY is there nothing of the same for male prostate cancer or the like?

Ah yes, there's the old saying "men couldn't organise a pissup at a brewery".

Women did all this for themselves.

There used to be nothing, you couldn't even say the word "breast" in public. So we did something about it. And now you are envious of our success, how very sad.

I think that if you bother to do a modicum of research you will see there are lots of fundraising efforts for prostate cancer too.

Because as WOMEN, We are PRO-Active about our Health. Try getting a MAN To go to the Doctor in the first place..they don't have time to be Bothered fighting for their lives. WE on the other hand, will never stop fighting for our lives. We want a cure, We will get out there, and make it happen. If men wish to do the same thing, more power to them. But many would rather sit in their easy chair with a Beer and Watch TV,.

I could be wrong, but I believe breast cancer is a lot more common than prostate cancer.

Additionally, we talk about it like it's a woman's disease, but men get breast cancer too. That'd be another interesting question -- why, with so much emphasis on breast cancer awareness, are men often seen as supporters but not as people who can actually be survivors as well?

I don't feel that you should put down a group for helping, the fact is they are helping. To help raise awareness they may focus on a certain group as part of a marketing campaign. People started all of these campaigns so instead of complaining they have one for this group but not that group, why not work to start one of your own? Obviously men are important and a male family or friend with a disease is very important to the people around them.

Women got together and organized fundraiser and raised awareness of breast cancer. Do a search on Susan Komen, and find out what happened.

There is absolutely NOTHING preventing men from doing the same thing for prostate cancer.

Because breasts are a more interesting and sexy subject than prostates and testicles. That's doesn't mean it's right, but that is why breast cancer receives more awareness than cancers that affect men. Heck, the number one and number two cancer killers of women are lung and colon cancer, but those don't even receive as much attention as breast cancer.

Women care more about their boobies than they even care about children. Kids get cancer too you know :-( and what colored ribbon do our kids have? None I tell you.

The "pink" ribbon was peach, as designed by Susan, a femi friend came in after Susan died and chose the very color womyn claimed to despise and it took off from there.

My boyfriend's package of Gillette blades have a tie in a loop design to represent prostate cancer, I might look into that.

Cancer of both genders is more looked at in the world than the cancer of one gender.

Well, there are websites, etc that do promote prostrate cancer. Do a search.

As for why - someone took the trouble to do something about it. You could be "the one" who could do the equal for prostrate cancer.

Go on ... do it.

I know. I guess it may be that it effects women more than men, but still they should get recognition as well.

November is actually called "No Shave November," no fundraiser there. Maybe your thinking about mustache May.

-Because Women tend to talk about Their "Issues" more... While Men are just more likely to die from Them. :(
