I had ordered new furniture a new wardrobe and dressing table and it was delivered that saturday. So I asked my daddy if he could build my new furniture for when I got back he said yeah. So I get back from my weekend trip and to my horror my furniture was not built and still packaged up in the boxes. When I whined to my daddy that he promised to put it up he said yeah but the football was on and it was fathers day, I was like so? and walked off in a temper and I told him that I told mum not to give him his present till he built them, he called me a selfish brat so then my mum offered to help me build them.

So I've now wasted 6 hours of yahoo time helping my mum to build my furniture. I am so p*ssed with my daddy. I can't believe I had gone all to the trouble of getting him something for fathers day now. Wah.

You ARE selfish. The gift should NOT be given under conditions. And you shouldn't have asked him to do it on HIS special day. If he asked you to do something for him on YOUR birthday you'd be pissed off. The gift you bought him was not out of love or appreciation. It was out of obligation for a holiday and you found your own conditions to keep it. Indeed selfish. And you're not on yahoo helping your mom. It's your furniture. She's helping you. Love is unconditional and you've decided not

To show your dad how much you appreciate him

Because he came short one one thing on your list. Selfish !

My husband was a father to be last year and I just got him a simple card and told him Happy Fathers Day, I also made a recording of my babies heartbeat andwrote happy first fathers day on the cassette tape! I didn't want to make a huge deal out of it but I wanted to do something so I thought that was appropriate! Good luck!

Well, your dad called it right. You are indeed. It must have been a real downer to have to help build your own furniture.
