recently there have been many teenage girls complaining about the dress codes in school. Saying that it is sexual discrimination and promotes rape culture. And "Boys should be taught not to look at girls" instead.

Unless the dress code applies to girls only and not boys how is this discrimination? And surely they realize that school of all places is a totally worthy place of having a dress code? A place where you go to learn. Not show off.

this dumb girl is a good example

""The fact that authority figures, especially males, can tell young women they must cover up their shoulders and their back because it is 'inappropriate' and 'a distraction' is very uncomforting.

When I went to school, the only real dress code we had was the zero tolerance policy, and talk about crazy. If you wore any colors that could be associated with gangs you got sent home, so no blue, no red, no gold, shoot even gray was a no no.

But as far as dress code and sexism goes, are boys allowed to wear like tank tops and muscle tees or do they have to cover up too. If they can wear that stuff I guess that girl has a point, but if they can't than I really don't see what the issue is. I mean, personally I don't see any problem with a girl wearing a blouse or dress with spaghetti straps, so long as it's tasteful.

Really, though, we could avoid all of this by just implementing uniforms. No need for a dress code then.

But this notion “Boys should be taught not to look at girls" seems retarded to me. I mean of course guys shouldn't stare, but irregardless of what girls wear, guys are going to look. And with that said could someone please explain to me how that's “rape culture?"

It's because they are down right stupid ,hypocritical and lack basic common sense. They don't realize that Carrying your life savings from the bank back home in a glass suitcase is gonna attract crooks who want a piece of that. The same applies for women slut-walking ,skimpy clothing and what not.

Some women DO realize this but they refuse to accept it because that would mean that they cannot wear whatever the heck they choose.Again ,another foolish assumption women and feminists make. Most people blame the groper or rapist for the crime ,but blame the girl for stupidity. This is my opinion as well.

What kind of a Moron cannot understand basic wisdom. If you provoke ,you will get a response.

Some fools who have cemented their incorrect ideals might claim that women even get raped in Arab countries where women are supposed to cover themselves.

Again ,the viewpoint was taken without a wholesome approach. There are 2 kinds of Rape.Planned and Impulse. Most rape is Impulse ,when a crook sees an arousing women and the opportunity presents itself. This kind of rape is what is most easy to prevent and the number of rapes will drop dramatically. The other kind of rape can only be prevented by stricter laws.

And this is just another display of feminist hypocrisy, they say the stupidest things when offense is done against women but they themselves say the darnest things. The very phrase "TEACH MEN NOT TO RAPE" is as evil as saying "TEACH BLACK PEOPLE TO STOP STEALING".

Echoing what Beta said, when I was in grade school, there was no tolerance. You either followed the dress code or were sent home.

Today we've empowered students, at least female students to pull the sexism card, allowing them to violate rules but be catered to rather then be held accountable. Kids of that age will push the limits and they are quick to learn what arguments allow them to push things the most.
