Question:
Do any other women find that they have this problem and how do they solve it?

I am extremely top heavy with big boobs and shoulders and a bit of a belly and I can never seem to gain weight on my bottom half. It's seriously annoying, especially since I am only 5'3 which doesn't balance it out in the slightest. I actually look worse skinny than I do any other shape because I just look completely angular a V shaped with massive boobs and wide shoulders. My waist has never been below 28 inches and at the moment I think it's 31 even though I am only 25% body fat according to those magic scales that tell you. I cannot wear jeans or trousers, since they think that all women have fat legs and they fall down and often cut into my waist even if they're the correct size. Belts make no difference and I have an allergy to nickle. Someone told me to wear boy's jeans, I tried on a pair of my Brother's and they fitted even worse than women's. I live in leggings and skirts 100% of the time. It drives me potty. My Mother and most of my female relatives are shaped exactly the same so I know that it's hereditary. Grrrr it's making me furious.

I have the exact same problem. I live in leggings, dresses, and sweats. I find that one in a million jeans fit properly, so usually I am trying on jeans alllll the time trying to find ones that work. AE jeans actually seem to fit me really well, I'm a size 8-10 and I know its a younger persons brand but that's been my best luck. My advice is just to keep trying on jeans, because rarely they WILL fit. Sometimes I dry my jeans and that works too.

I don't quite have the same problem as you but I do have my own issues with trying to find clothes to fit me.

I'm 5"3, with a tiny back (I'm only a 32" round the back) but a large cup size. So shopping for tops is a nightmare! On the bottom half, I have like no waist, average width of legs & short leg length. Therefore trousers/jeans are usually too big in the waist, too tight in the thighs or too long in the legs.

And when it comes to losing weight, I can lose it anywhere but my breasts!!

I have a similar shape - good ole skinny chicken legs. I don't mind it. My boobs have shrunk a bit as I have gotten older. I find it hard to get clothes for the top half mostly the arms are too long or if the arms are right it wont fit across my chest. I can get jeans try the skinny jean.

You have what is called an "apple" shape rather than a "pear" shape that most women have. As long as you keep your weight under control, and dress appropriately for your build, there's not much you can do but accept yourself. You can get liposuction, but that's a big decision to make.

Good luck! There are many men out there that will appreciate your top half, believe me. :)

I know you're venting, but there's nothing you can do about your genes (jeans?? ;-)

Unfortunately, this is something you have to learn to live with.

Things could be worse. You could have been born with a serious genetic defect. Your problem (let's face it) is cosmetic. Mine, too, by the way.

No, if I gain weight I gain it everywhere lol. But maybe start working out and building muscle on your legs.
