Why do many male users on this site constantly trash talk the feminist movement?

They constantly ask why the feminist movement isnt doing anything to help out men, and yet the MRA movement isn't doing anything to help out women but feminists aren't bashing them for that. They also constantly ask why many feminists dont point out certain male issues, when they should be taking that up with the MRA movement since thats the purpose of their movement. For example, they would ask things like, "How come feminist dont do anything about false rape accusations" or "Why arent they doing anything to put an end to male circumcision" when they should be asking MRAs that question. They speak as if the MRA movement is better and more about fairness and "equality" than the feminist movement is but they bash the feminist movement for things the MRA movement isnt doing. The goal of the feminist movement is to make women more equal to men in mainstream society, and their main focus is to help women, not men, thats why its called the feminist movement, there are many feminist who help out men as well, but thats not feministic work. For a few reasons. 1) Feminists back in the 70s redefined rape, so that the definition would not include rape against men nor rape perpetrated by women; recently, feminists also took credit for getting that fixed (although they sent me many e-mails protesting the fixing, actually, and making it look so that rape was getting redefined in a way that aversely affected women; it did aversely affect female rapists). 2) Feminists are often getting MRA conferences shut down. MRAs don't do this to feminists (that I know of, anyway). 3) Many feminists make the movement look bad by bashing all men as if they are not as diverse as women and as if their penises determine who they are, they protest with disgusting vitriol when a man calls himself a feminist (one in my experience likened a male feminist to a rapist by saying they can't take no for an answer and therefore can't be trusted around women, which is frankly bullshit and horrible slander), and there's the TERFs (Trans-exclusive-radical-feminists) who feel the need to further discriminate against transgender women by saying they can't be feminists. Currently, many homeless shelters for abuse survivors will not allow a mother to bring her 13 year old son with her, making her choose between homelessness, staying with her abusive husband, or leaving her kid with her abusive husband. I could go on for a while.

Because feminists constantly claim to be egalitarian despite all the evidence which shows that they're everything to the contrary.



On the other hand, the men's rights group isn't advocating to take anything away from the feminists, which shows that any criticsm accusing them of being misogynists is totally unfounded.

It's not about equality, because equality would involve women being half accountable for things. Feminists want ZERO accountability, while men have 100 percent, even for the things WOMEN do or don't do.

We are all sold the idea of supporting Feminism on the grounds its focus is gender equality. If it is, as you describe, just focused on gaining women more and more rights, bollocks to the men, that is no manifestation of 'equality' anyone sane is going to acknowledge. Futhermore, the existence of Feminism in this guise in every way justifies the existence of the MRA ant it's stance against feminism

It's usually to point out that feminists are not consistent with their "dictionary definition".



I am an anti-feminist but I don't bother bashing feminism for not taking care of men's problems. There are plenty of points to criticize feminists for that are much more relevant than that. I really don't expect the feminists to take care of men's problems which they will more than likely do it wrong if they would attempt to. So I insists not even suggesting them to do it if you really care for the outcome.

Feminism seems to be whatever the woman (or man) you ask believes that it is. One day it's about gender equality, the next it's "only" seeking to increase rights for women, then it's about ending sexism against little boys, then it's "men should be feminists to end discrimination against themselves".



It all means nothing, at least to me. It has no focus.

I think they believe that since feminists stand for equality that they should be fighting for men and womens rights.. but they are fighting for women only so women can be equal to men, so their cause is not a lie just misunderstood so everyone assumes they lie about what they stand for and then there is also the stereotype that they Hate men (in general) and that they dont want men to have any rights. But i believe they only have a problem with those trying to oppress them..

Probably because most people view feminism as equalism. People get mad at you if you say you aren't a feminist. They demand you explain why you don't support men and women having equal rights.



I figure most of the men who are pointing out the feminism is not equalism are probably doing so because they've heard so many people say that it is and they want to point out the need for the men's rights movement.

There is irrational resentment on both sides. My dear friend used to complain that there was no male equivalent to the women's groups fight against breast cancer (for prostate cancer). He couldn't get it through his head that men hadn't organized around the issue whereas women had organized around the issue of breast cancer. Instead, he thought it was due to unfair government subsidies. He was a bright guy, too. I could only shake my head and wonder.
