I don't have an article but this did happen to my nephew. When he sought help, he was further victimized by the mindset of "Dude, you just got lucky. Shut up about it and quit whining." At the time my nephew was deeply in love with the woman he went on to marry. He had elected to stay over night at a friend's house and his assault started while he was sleeping. He has never told anyone else about this.......because of the shame.

I would suggest this crime does occur but covertly because men will not report it. My nephew did go on to develop post traumatic stress disorder as a result of this assault. A specific form of sex offendor, called frotteurists, will initiate sexual contact with a non-consenting victim (e.g. the victim is asleep, intoxicated or in some other way unable to give consent.) These people need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Rape of males by females is rarely reported by the victim and almost never by the press.

As stated in many of the links below and others, 1 in 6 men are raped (by men or women) but I was unable to find one specific case dealing with male victim/female perpetrator. This is not to say it does not happen, it does, as is evidenced by FBI reports.

Do a search for "Male rape" or "male rape cases", however, the majority of cases published are male/male rape or male anally raped by female with instruments. Still, it appears that females do rape men and force penetration with PIV, which is quite possible. Men do have erections that are not caused by sexual arousal and quite frequently.



In my opinion, the major reason for non-publication of specific cases is that men do not have groups like women have with feminist organizations and of course, feminists are not at all interested in what happens to men, no matter how vile.

Therefore, male victims of rape by females often face social, political, and legal double-standards . Female rapists are usually seen as much less culpable than male rapists by the courts. In addition, male victims of female rape often endure a double-bind because men are considered to always want sex with a woman which means that female-on-male rape can be seen, by others, as consensual when in fact the female sexual predator usually uses covert psychological or emotional coercion to commit the crime. In addition, since rape by females is much less well known than male-female rape, male victims of female rapists often find little support from rape crisis centers (many of which do not welcome any adult males, including rape victims). Finally, since the incidence of female-on-male rape is on record at much higher rates (31% compared to 10%) in Canada, it is likely being substantially under-reported in the US.



In many countries, male rape is legally classified under a different law or name. However, the nature of the incident, and its consequences, are similar. It is said that male rape is taken less seriously as a result of the stereotypical views held about males in many societies, including modern Western society. Men's rights lobbyists are pushing for tougher male rape laws, and have gained some success, but many still feel that more work is needed to be done.

In February 1997, LeTourneau was charged with statutory rape of a 13 year old student. Four months later, she gave birth to a child fathered by the student. She was convicted and freed from jail in 2004. She married the student a year later.



Wendie Schweikert



Schweikert, an elementary school teacher in South Carolina was charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor in February 2006.



Susan Clickner



Clickner, a middle school teacher in Massachusetts, is charged with having sex with 14-year-old student. She faces an October 206 trial.



Pamela Smart



Smart as a media services coordinator at a New Hampshire high school in 1990. She is serving a life term for prompting a boy she met at the school to kill her husband. The two also had sexual relations.
