Question:
Why do feminists use the oppression of women in third world nations as an excuse for privilege in the west?
2012-03-06 19:09:09 UTC
whenever people point out the lies and hypocrisies of feminists, feminists are quick to scream "women are treated bad in this country or that country " as if it is some kind of justification of the despicable behavior feminists continually show.

I saw it just now. A feminist said "men have it bad in the courts, but women are treated badly in some country" or whatever

this is funny because I clearly see feminists are based in countries like the US and UK and are continually screaming and crying for privileges in the US and UK

feminists have won in this regard. Men and boys also go through hardships in third world countries but now organizations like the Red Cross, Amnesty international and the UN are spending millions of dollars on women's issues and men are completely ignored. Men and boys simply don't exist in third world countries other than oppressors of women

so because some woman is being treated in some way in Faroffistan, I have to be OK with feminist politician Harriet Harman in the UK passing one anti male law after another?

bullshIt. This is clearly a shaming tactic and next time it is used on me I think I'll just say beep off

I think you make a good point...

Though I wonder if women in Third World Countries actually have it so bad... I mean, it's rare, but whenever we get news from some 3rd world country it's always something horrid... as if the news is trying to tell us that 3rd world countries are dangerous... but look at our own countries, sure they're probably more secured in terms of policing and military, they're pretty dangerous also.

idk, my point is, aside from Iraq, and Afghanistan where they're being occupied (Israel too?), third world countries and the middle east are relatively normal (if you google pictures of Tehran it's looks beautiful, so does Cairo in some parts)

They have no real reason to continue demanding privilege here so they try to shame the world by pointing out the problems in Faroffistan...from one side, of course.

Men and boys, for instance, make up around 65-70% of the worldwide slave trade - yet women's slavery is a big issue...

someone said recently that we, as a society, need to learn to value men and boys more - the above is a clear example that we - and other societies - currently do no such thing. You could always ask yourself WHY men are the majority as slaves - I'd have to say because they are better workers and are more capable. If even the low-life of the world know that - how come our 'educated' elitists can't get a grip on it?

honestly the head of the family in many third world families are men, this means men get more privileges in some cases.
